The Logo of SKTurner
This is my logo. I'm very proud of it.
I wanted a logo that would show my personality and my likes and dislikes in a very simple way. I also wanted it to show off my graphic design prowess, so I needed it to be shiny, clean, and reminiscent of something computer generated.
In order to get my personality in there, I took a picture someone had taken of my back side and I traced the outline. It was lucky enough that they had gotten me in my suit and pork-pie hat, which went with the Ska/Rude Boy theme I wanted to show off. To keep both with the Two Tone style and the simplistic nature of the icon, I made it black and white, filling in gradients to give it depth.
Then I created a border around the image that was reminiscent of a polaroid photograph to further push the visual identity of my work.
Finally, I made sure to make it very button-ish by pulling up the gradients and making the whole thing look shiny, kind of like the buttons in Mac OS X. I really wanted that Computer feel.
And so I've got my little logo. It's a little bit of me and a little bit of what I do.
